A special day!

3 in 1 birthday card

Last friday was my dear husband's birthday! So i surprised him with a cake, gifts and my handmade card to encourage him.(my personal card for him is not posted yet)

I made this one so our friends can write their greetings and encouragements too...

This is a 3-in-1 card..i thought it would be convenient to hold just one piece of card with lots of spaces to write. I cut 3 different sizes of cards. Put embellishment on each. Then i used a puncher to make 2 holes on the side to tie them together using raffia and added beads on it. To add more space, i made an extra pocket at the back of the card with small pieces of plain tags. Easy? You can try it too..

So I passed this card around before our church gathering starts while Eugene was busy talking to other brothers but unfortunately he noticed it..hahaha! but still I was so glad that it was all filled up with so much encouragements from our friends. He was excited to find out and read what they wrote for him....we get to celebrate his birthday together with the group and sang the famous birthday song for his special day.Thank you to all who made my husband's birthday memorable=)

Happy birthday my dear!(",)

Appreciating Nature

Aside from painting, drawing, arts & crafts..i also love photography. Everytime my digital camera is with me, i will always look for opportunity to get a picture of a subject that i really love..i know that only through photographs that i can capture that very moments of beauty. Everyday is different when you look at nature through moves & it changes.
It was summer in Chicago, my husband and i decided to have some time out with our friends. We were very excited because i know for sure that i will get to see wonderful and beautiful things. It was our first time in Chicago Botanic Garden and i'm very glad that i took the time to capture these gorgeous flowers during our visit there last year..i appreciate God's creation much more everytime i take the moment to stare at them and look for a great angle to capture its beauty...These are just few of my flower photos, i made them a little brighter to show their details..wish i have a DSLR.=) i'll be posting some of my sunset collection next time..=)
Have a great week!

Bali inspired

i was inspired by my bangles that i bought from KOHL's last April 2010 in Chicago. It's like a balinese design which is the motif of my sister's wedding. It was digitally painted and used on her bridal shower party invitation using Corel Paint with tablet and pen. I am just starting to learn and discover the many How To's of this software. It's exciting and fun! and im looking forward to make more creations...=)

Women Designer: Genevieve Gorder Genevieve Gorder is the host and designer of another show that i really love, Dear Genevieve. She is always ready to give a warm hug everytime she meets with her client on the show. She's so sweet. She has her unique style in designing spaces. It is fresh, cozy & simply chic. I love that she also gives tips and advice as she answers the questions sent by her followers which i myself is learning too.

Women Designer: Candice Olson of my favorite female designer is Candice Olson of Divine Design. The first time i watched her show was when we were in Chicago on HGTV. She 's talented and funny too. I super love her taste on colors, textures & patterns. . She creates a very sophisticated makeover may it be in traditional, modern or rustic styling. She always turns any room into a cozy living spaces. No wonder her show was named as Divine Design.
